Highlights from CTLE Workshop: Student feedback on teaching – The PolyU Experience

On 8th of November, 2017, Dr. Christine Armatas, Associate Director of Educational Development at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University held a workshop named “Student Feedback on Teaching – The PolyU Experience”.  The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) conducted evaluation of subjects and teaching each semester via the Student Feedback Questionnaire (SFQ). Since moving to a fully online administration of the SFQ in the 2015/16 academic year, PolyU has made enhancements to the way in which results are reported and the information available to teaching staff from the survey.  In this workshop, Dr. Armatas looked at how these changes improved teachers’ use of the results for enhancing teaching and learning. She also discussed their suitability as quality assurance and quality enhancement measures and explored other ways of evaluating the quality of teaching.
