Research on T&L Faculty Learning Community
CTLE Is piloting a Faculty Learning Community (FLC) focused on research on teaching and learning, which aims to promote scholarship of teaching and learning at UM. This FLC will gather faculty members whose research looks at ways of developing and applying effective pedagogy and examines the impact of research-informed teaching.
The FLC will meet on a regular basis to discuss progress and output related to T&L research activities. The first meeting will take place in February and continue till the end of the Spring Semester; the total number of meetings for this pilot semester is expected to be 3-4. Each member will be expected to be present at meetings of this FLC and engage in discussions relevant to the group. We will use UM-Moodle to organise and disseminate information, and whatsapp/wechat as a discussion platform for the group, should members so desire.
One of the advantages of being part of this FLC is that it provides a structured environment for multi-disciplinary discussions with colleagues from across campus on issues of common interest as well as the opportunity to develop T&L research questions.
We hope that you will consider applying to be part of this FLC on research on T&L.
The application consists of four short questions:
- What would you contribute to this Faculty Learning Community?
- What do you hope to gain from this experience?
- Would you be willing to talk about your work with the group?
- Please list 3-5 examples of your research output on T&L in recent years.
To apply, please click the following link and complete the online application form by 19 January, 2018 (Friday).
