Abstract

The rapid change in the society has increased the expectations of higher education. Educational initiatives which are shaped by global phenomena are introduced to enhance the quality of teaching and learning experience. In this workshop, Dr. Tang will examine the outcome-based approach (OBA) in course design, technology-based learning activities, and initiatives beyond the curriculum with reference to an undergraduate teacher education programme in Hong Kong. Specifically, the development of learning outcomes, grade descriptors and rubrics for the implementation of the OBA to assessment, the design and rationale behind a professional online learning community, and the experiential learning activities to improve students’ competencies and global outlook will be exemplified.
